A Great First Day

What a wonderful first day at the Crafty Math Lab in February. We learned about the wonder of circles! Everything from diameter and radius to the wonder of chords. Then,  we got right to the crafting. We made beautiful headbands and necklaces from flowers made of circles! The felt was flying and we couldn't believe how the time flew by. Can't wait to introduce next week's project!

So much to craft, so little time!
A very fun mess...
Our creations!

Welcome to The Crafty Math Lab!

Educators Karen Peters (M.S. in Ed. and developer of The Accessories Club at Visitation Academy) and Susan D’Auria (M.S. in Ed. Adolescent Mathematics) have teamed up to create a unique approach to exploring the connection between Art and Mathematics. The program strives to engage children with hands-on projects that encourage creativity while demonstrating the need for Mathematics outside the classroom.

Why is this a perfect after school activity?
