Welcome to The Crafty Math Lab!

Educators Karen Peters (M.S. in Ed. and developer of The Accessories Club at Visitation Academy) and Susan D’Auria (M.S. in Ed. Adolescent Mathematics) have teamed up to create a unique approach to exploring the connection between Art and Mathematics. The program strives to engage children with hands-on projects that encourage creativity while demonstrating the need for Mathematics outside the classroom.

Why is this a perfect after school activity?
Our Lab allows for young adults to express themselves artistically, as well as promoting the importance of using patterns, proportions, and measurements to complete a work of art.

Building Fine Motor Skills
Threading a needle, sewing a flower, and creating paper beads all require focus and attention to detail. Our weekly projects will enhance your child’s hand-to-eye coordination as well as their spatial awareness.
